The Ararat Eagles B Grade netball team’s season has finished after it was defeated by Woorndoo-Mortlake 40 to 47 in the Mininera and District Netball Association elimination final at Glenthompson on Sunday.

Coach Hayley Driscoll said it was a physical game.
"It was a tough game,” she said.
“We were pretty close with Woorndoo-Mortlake at one point in the third quarter.
"So it could have gone either way.”
"Our girls all gelled together and developed some good chemistry on court.
Driscoll said the team had not played a lot of netball together prior to the 2016 season.
She said she was pleased with how they worked together in the final.
“Jakki Weppner was great in the centre for the full game,” she said.
“Brittany Lugg and Katelyn Driscoll were solid in defence.”
Shooting accuracy was the difference between the two teams.
The Eagles finished the game on 67 per cent.
The Tigers shot at 74 per cent.
Ararat Eagles goal shooter Holly Leggett sunk 30 goals in a solid performance under the ring.
Driscoll said rebounds were important.
"Our goals were missing but we were able to get the rebound,” she said
"Our pressure was good throughout the game.
“It was important we did not let it slip so that was good to see.
“But It was a good season overall.”
