Community groups, schools and businesses in Stawell and Halls Gap are encouraged to attend an information session to learn how to benefit from the day.
The community consultation session at the Halls Gap Visitor Information Session will run from 6pm on Monday, September 12.
The session will provide members of the community details on getting involved in the event.
Northern Grampians Shire councillor Jason Hosemans said the ride in November would see cyclists begin their journey to the Great Ocean Road from Halls Gap.
“We are rapt to be playing a part in this great event and are really excited about the opportunities it presents for our local communities,” he said.
Cr Hosemans said organisers expected more than 5000 people to visit Halls Gap between Friday, November 24 and Sunday, November 26.
“They will be in town all day on the Saturday looking for things to see, do and eat, so it is an ideal time for us to show them everything that’s great about our shire,” he said.
Cr Hosemans said the upcoming information session would provide details on how the community could capitalise on the spike in tourism through sausage sizzles, pop-up stores and other activities and fundraisers.
“If there are groups out there that are looking at raising some extra funds or promoting themselves to a wider audience, we are urging them to head along to the session and find out what they need to do so they can start planning for November,” he said.
