The Swifts and Bombers both started the game with something to prove as they worked hard to take the lead.
The Swifts managed to pull through for a narrow lead at the half time break but the Bombers did not lose sight of the win, 6.5(98)-5.5(94).
The third quarter was where the Bombers put their foot down, 10.8(98)-11.7(94).
The final quarter saw the Bombers endure a disappointingly tight loss and the Swifts deliver a win, 15.8(98)-14.10(94).
Damon Folkes delivered for the Swifts, kicking four goals. Alex Close and Andrew Cameron kicked three goals each.
Nicholas Pickering was a standout for the Swifts as well as Matthew Healy, Jakeb Brown, Scott Carey, Paul Carson and Sean Mantell.
Shane Oakley, Todd Klemm, Luke Spasic, Jack Vague, Tyler Snowden and Ben Myerscough were awarded best for the Bombers.
