In round four, the Demons scraped home for a 16.13 (109) to 14.13 (97) win.
But when the teams met again in round 11 the game was much more lopsided in the Saints favour.
The final scoreline was 16.12 (118) to 6.8 (44).
Saints’ captain Alex McRae does not think his side can read too much into the result.
“They had quite a few players out that day,” he said.
“They’ve probably got a much different side this week.”
Instead he predicts it will be a tough game more typical of Horsham derbies.
“They play a similar style to us so it will probably be another good game,” he said.
“We just need to focus on the basic things like pressure around the football as well as skills and execution.”
Demons’ coach Brad Hartigan also expected it to be another good game.
“We got a bit of form back last week,” he said.
“The way we were moving the footy around was a real good sign.”
He said his side would need to do the same in order to compete with the Saints.
“We can’t afford to turn the footy over,” he said.
“We’ve got to limit the opportunities to their forwards.
“Jake Harrison has been having a really good season up forward so we need to stop their on-ballers giving him chances.”
With two rounds remaining the Demons could still move up into second or down to fourth.
Getting a win on Saturday ahead of playing Stawell in the final round is a top priority for the side.
“We want to finish top three so it’s an important game,” Hartigan said.
For the Saints it is the second of three games running into the end of the home and away season.
Round 14 saw Saints hold off Stawell in a low-scoring slug-fest and the team faced Minyip-Murtoa in the final round.
“We always knew that the last three games were going to be tough,” McRae said.
“It’s good because the boys are pushing themselves on the run into finals.”
