The committee supports the gallery across a range of areas and its members include a councillor, director council services and four community members.
Two community representative positions are currently vacant for a three-year terms from July 1, 2016.
Cr Fay Hull said the committee has input on acquisitions and is represented on the project committee for the Town Hall redevelopment.
“The committee provides a valuable link to the community with advice regarding community involvement, and options to assist the gallery,” she said.
Applicants for committee membership should provide a 300-word application addressing their understanding of the committee, an ability to work productively as a member, a background in the arts, education, marketing, philanthropy or community development and an ability to advance the gallery.
Expressions of interest are due by August 19 at 5pm and can be delivered to council’s offices on the corner of Vincent and High Streets, Ararat.
They can also be mailed to Ararat Rural City PO Box 246, Ararat VIC 3377 or sent by email to gallery@ararat.vic.gov.au
