Kaniva Cobras dominated play in the open division against the Dimboola Burras but had difficulty converting play into goals against a solid Dimboola Burras midfield.
It took 25 minutes of play before Clint Beattie broke through the defenders to put a goal on the scoreboard for the Cobras.
The one goal win assures the Cobras of their third place spot while the Burras remain vulnerable to lose their current fourth position against the Horsham Hurricanes in round 13.
The Warrack Hoops started a dominant pressure filled game against the Hurricanes but both sides were unable to score in damp first half conditions.
Beau Lovett got the ball past the Hoops for a goal in the second half, pushing the Hurricanes to the lead.
Hoops leading goal scorer Darius Cosgrave kicked into gear shortly after, scoring two goals to put the pressure back on the Hurricanes.
The Hoops continued to control the game with goals from Royce Bennett and Jarrod Knoop confirming their 4-1 victory.
The Yanac Tigers and Nhill Rangers endured a scoreless deadlock until Bradley Alexander came through in the final minutes of play with one winning goal for the Tigers.
In women’s division action the Dimboola Roos continued with their consistent form against the Kaniva Women.
Roos’ Adina King scored three of the teams six goals but the best was awarded to Rebecca Lovett, Jennifer Klinge and Brooke McMaster.
Kaniva’s best went to full back Rachel Clark, half back Lisa Stimson and forward Jemima Bothe.
The Horsham Jets completed a 10-goal annihilation against the Warrack Women.
Suzanne Puls scored three goals for the Jets.
Defender Tegan Roche, in her second game for the season, was named as Warrack’s best player along with Alana Morrow and Astra McCumber.
The Yanac Women showed a return to form, recording a four goal defeat against the Nhill Thunderbirds.
