St Arnaud resident Norma Smith said Optus towers in the area had been out since Monday.
“This happened back in August 2013 and it has been out since July 18,” she said.
“They say it will come back on on the 24th but this is ridiculous.
“Businesses have no Eftpos, no mobile, no wireless internet – it’s hard to be without these essentials for a business especially.”
The area has two towers. Mrs Smith said she was frustrated ,along with many other residents.
“The service has been hopeless from Optus. It is almost like the people trying to help us have been given the wrong information,” she said.
“There is nothing on the service station page either.
“Everyone has been buying Telstra pre-paid mobiles to accommodate for the loss of the Optus ones.”
