Tink said it was a huge honour to represent Australia.
“It's a huge honour and privilege to be wearing the green and gold to play for my country,” she said.
“I still remember at school filling out those ‘when I grow up I want to...’ questions. I use to always say that I wanted to be an elite athlete. Little did I think that I could actually play for Australia one day.
“It was just so surreal when that did come true.”
Australia defeated Portugal 15-7 in the championship’s first game last Sunday, with Tink scoring one goal.
Tink scored two goals against Finland in the second game last Monday, contributing to the side’s 15-5 victory.
In the third game of the championships, Australia trumped New Zealand 15-7.
In Wednesday’s play offs, Australia was victorious against France, 15-4.
Tink’s side then went on to play rival USA, and suffered a 15-7 defeat.
On Thursday, Australia faced Japan, narrowly winning 15-13.
The semi finals took place on Friday with Australia defeating Canada 15-12.
The win saw Tink’s side qualify for the final against the USA, where Australia again tasted defeat 15-6.
Tink said she never expected to get to this point when she first started her frisbee journey.
“I could hardly throw a frisbee to start with but with lots of practice and training I got there,” she said.
“Before long I was given heaps of opportunities from various people and clubs who saw potential in me.”
Tink isn’t sure what her next frisbee goal will be.
“I’ve got no real direction next,” she said.
“I would have to wait another four years for this tournament to come around again.
“I might take another break and see what happens.”
