Since the first Ararat Relay For Life in 2004, the community has raised more than $250,000 to help Cancer Council Victoria continue its important work in cancer research, prevention and support.
Relay For Life co-ordinator Naomi Young thanked the community for its generous support and said the Relay For Life team will continue to fundraise and support those with cancer in the Ararat community.
"There are a lot of passionate Relay For Life supporters in Ararat and there are lots of ways they can continue their support for Cancer Council Victoria," she said.
"I would encourage those who want to participate in Relay For Life this year to consider the Castlemaine Relay For Life. Alternatively, there are a number of ways to support Cancer Council including hosting your own fundraising event, donating or volunteering your time."
The Castlemaine Relay For Life will be held on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 November; for more information visit www.relayforlife.org.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
