Unfortunately for the former Ararat footballer and his teammates, South Australia led at every change to come away with a 19-point victory at Adelaide Oval.
The final scores were 16.10 (106) to 13.9 (87).
Playing state football was a huge honour for Dalgleish, who currently lines up for Footscray in the VFL. Footscray is the Western Bulldogs’ feeder team.
These VFL appearances provide the 23-year old with a second chance of playing AFL after he was delisted by Essendon at the end of 2015.
