This is the eighth year in a row the club has received the shield. Donated by Ararat Fire Brigade, the shield goes to the local club or pub that has raised the most money in the Ararat district.
It is presented as a thank you for their effort.
Aradale Golf Club raised $1506 for the 2016 Good Friday Appeal, ahead of second placed Ararat RSL with $1058 and Chalambar Golf Club $525.95.
During the year, Aradale Golf Club held a small raffle every week. This year, it was a mystery raffle so members that were successful never knew what they had won.
Club president Ken Mahney said the achievement wouldn’t have possible without the generous donations from local businesses.
“You only had to mention the Royal Children’s Hospital and businesses donated willingly,” Mr Mahney said.
“Being a small club, it was put back on the members who turned up on the day to achieve this result.”
Graeme Cooper, Ararat Area Manager for the Royal Children's Good Friday Hospital Appeal, thanked the Ararat community for its tremendous support.
A record total of $33,918.45 was raised by Ararat and district for the Good Friday Appeal.
“Your support helps ensure that the Royal Children’s Hospital continues to provide world-class care,” Mr Cooper said.
Mr Mahney thanked Aradale Golf Club members and donors of trophies for their contribution, and hopes this generosity will continue for many years to come.
