Mark Harris took out the A grade trophy with 80-11-69 on countback from Robert Harricks 74-5-69. In B grade, Peter Kerber finally overcame the tricky Chalambar greens to take the B grade prize with a new personal best 78-12-66.
Kerber, from Geelong, has been a member of Chalambar for six months. He defeated Lloyd Grice who, after six years has still to master the greens, shooting 88-18-70.
In C grade, part-time Saturday member, Rob Arthur, took the major prize with 87-19-68 from Brian Rieniets 90-19-71.
Gary Pugh won the secret six trophy, showing that it’s not always necessary to have a good overall score to share in the spoils at Chalambar.
The Chalmabar veterans and Tivey and Holland again paid out four balls for birdies on the first and 18th holes. Winners were Rob Webb, David Jennings, Daryl Dunford and Geoff White.
Nearest the pins went to Mark Harris on the second and sixth holes while David Haddow took out the eighth and 15th.
Rob Porter won on the 16th and Ian Tucker scored on the 18th (yes, he did miss the birdie putt and the next one too).
Run down balls went to John Shaw, Ian Tucker, Michael Harricks and Rob Webb.
On Thursday, Anthony Passalick, John Shaw, and Bill Coxall each scored poultry for their 38 points while Daryl Dunford won the 18th hole nearest the pin.
Please note that this Saturday is a single stableford event. This Sunday, May 29 is the annual Pyrenees Cup at Aradale. This involves Willaura, Elmhurst, Chalambar and Aradale Golf Clubs.
The Gordon Jamieson Memorial fourball event has been transferred to July 23.
