The club’s monthly rally coincided with Mother’s Day. The money raised from the lunch, along with a raffle with prizes donated by Ararat Pony Club members, went to breast cancer research institutions.
Pumpkin soup, chicken and salad along with cakes and slices were on offer for the women.
Ararat Pony Club secretary, Tina Wilde, was thrilled with the outcome.
“It was a huge success. We had a lunch with all the mothers and grandmothers, and the kids had the best day,” she said.
“We’re only a small club of 10 or 11 families, so it was a great effort.”
The club raised $174.40 to go towards breast cancer research, an increase from the 2015 total.
Ararat Pony Club is always on the look out for more members. The club holds its rally on the second Sunday of each month. ‘Come and try’ days are also available. For more information, contact Tina on 0409 523 538.
