The Terang meeting will instead be held at NMIT Ararat Park today.
The Terang track underwent remedial works during its winter hiatus, thus necessitating the conduct of official trials before approval was granted for the resumption of racing.
On-going wet weather and the subsequent condition of the track has meant there is insufficient time for the return to racing program to be successfully implemented before today's meeting.
Ararat Turf Club manager, Adam Atchison said the club was excited to hold an extra meeting and that the Ararat track had responded well to warmer weather and some rain since its first meeting on September 21.
There is a quality day of racing ahead beginning in race one where Nador, trained by Mathew Williams and ridden by Dean Yendall, should appreciate being back on firmer ground and win from stable mate East Star and Commentawi.
Race two could see Jason Warren and Ben Melham combine to win with Satan's Chariot, ahead of Julinsky and Conquistador.
Moreau should breakthrough for trainer Dean Binaisse in race three, from Our Legend who is trained by Terry and Karina O'Sullivan and Pure Courage in a very even race.
In another fairly open race the O'Sullivan trained Bromadel, with Dean Yendall aboard, may get some luck and win her maiden, from Princess Madeline and Glittering, while in race five the Ciaron Maher trained Arohanui should be too good for these on top of the ground from Fiscalist and Mr Birchy
Race six could see Henshaw for trainer Mick Cerchi and jockey Ryan Plumb win ahead of Diamonds at Noon and Hay Bob.
Enabling for trainer Jarrod McLean looks the winner in race seven from Bella Mews and St James Gate, while in the final event of the day Tacs Return can win again for Robert Smerdon from Another Blue Boy and Holy Heart.
