The diesel train for the trip to Kaniva will depart Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station at 6.30am on February 27, with a stop to pick up passengers at Ararat and change trains at 9.20am before arriving at Kaniva at 12.35pm.
At Kaniva passengers will enjoy a barbecue lunch at the Commercial Hotel.
Passengers will have two hours to explore Kaniva before the train departs to return to Melbourne at 2.40pm.
The train departs Ararat at 5.50pm to return via Ballarat and North Geelong to arrive at Southern Cross Station at 10.20pm.
