Philip claimed the spoils from Lloyd Grice and Steve O’Connell following the decider - all three players finished with a net score of 67.
O’Connell also took out the A grade best net as well as the best scratch score with a 75. Craig Potter claimed the runner up trophy in A grade with a net 68.
Philip’s net 67 also provided him the C grade best net trophy from runner up Grice, while B grade honours went to Arthur Mahoney with his net 69 from David Jennings on 70.
Birdies on the first hole were scored by Arthur Mahoney and Merv Roberts while nearest the pin trophies were taken home by Potter (2nd and 6th holes), Robert Arthur (8th), David Haddow (15th), Anthony Passalick (16th) and O’Connell (18th).
As well as his two nearest the pins and his runner’s up trophy, Craig Potter won the secret six holes best score, continuing his great form of the past three weeks (obviously good flexi-time hours at Elders).
Consolation balls were won by Brian Rieniets 68, Harold Thomas, Tyrone Hammerstein and Greg Graham each with 69.
In the Thursday chicken run competitions, Peter Dohnt 39, Xavier Vearing 38, Arthur Mahoney 38, Chris Fresle 38 and Greg Graham 37 all took home dinner.
Dohnt and Vearing also scored chickens for their nine hole competition scores along with Phil Goudie 20, Gary Pugh 20, Ian Wright 20, Robert Harricks 19. Des Hull won the 18th hole nearest the pin.
Tomorrow’s event is the annual chaplaincy-sponsored four-ball best ball stableford with a 12:30 pm shotgun start.
Coming up on Sunday, February 21 is a special fun day par three competition being played on a composite course with plenty of novelty holes and great prizes.
