The sessions ran from 9.30am to midday, with 30 children attending.
Most were children from Ararat, while some were from Horsham and others that were on holiday from Queensland.
The sessions were led by Sandra Waterhouse and a team of willing workers from various Ararat churches.
The Epic Explorers program ran over four days.
“Children aged from four to 11 years old had great fun exploring Adventure Island and learning who Jesus was, what he has done for them and what it means to follow him,” Ms Waterhouse said.
“A very energetic theme song, creative bible storytelling, games, themed snacks and craft helped to make for a great time of learning about the Christian faith.”
“Exploration crafts were named expedition water bottles (for the very hot days we had), hats, binoculars and maps.”
The children also participated in other craft activities including finger painting, mobiles and potted bulbs with paper flowers.
Some of the games enjoyed included relays and an obstacle courses.
There were two teams and the blue team won.
To end the program, the hungry and tired young explorers and their parents enjoyed a hot dog followed by a treasure hunt. It is hoped a holiday club will continue to be held at regular intervals throughout the year during the school holidays.
