The Ararat/Stawell Devils will battle it out with the Victoria Police Vikings Rugby Club in a tribute to the 157 Victoria Police members who have died in the line of duty.
The Victoria Police Association has thrown its support behind the initiative and will provide a trophy and awards for the best players of each team.
An exciting day of sport, culture and community inclusion has been planned.
Visitors will be officially welcomed by a performance of the haka and there will be a minute's silence prior to the match to honour those members who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Members of the Victoria Police Pipe Band will also perform and there will be a barbecue, refreshments and Melbourne Storm showbags available.
The action kicks off with the haka at 11.15am.
The Blue Ribbon Rugby League Cup is an alcohol free event.
The inaugural event has been made possible thanks to the Victoria Police Association, Ararat Rural City Council, Department of Justice, Melbourne Storm and the Ararat community.
