Oehm defeated Brett Sladdin, who was vying for his maiden championship honour, in a tight Australia Day decider.
Both players (who are skips at the club) took their time to get into the match. When they settled down, Sladdin took control to lead 14-6 before the score skipped out to 19-12.
After 29 ends, it came down to 24 all. Ditch to ditch they went and Oehm got the all-important one shot to claim the spoils.
Aradale congratulated Oehm on winning his seventh club championship and believe Sladdin’s name won't be far away from gracing the club’s honour board.
SEMI FINALS ACTION
The first final at Aradale on Tuesday was a battle between Brett Sladdin and Mick Bowater.
Sladdin got of to a flying start to race leading 14-4 although the fight in Bowater saw him reduce the margin to two shots (17-15).
However, Sladdin’s experience saw him get home 25-20.
The other final was played out between Peter Oehm and Shane Cunningham. This game was similar to the first contest, with Oehm jumping out of the blocks quickly, 11-2.
As expected, Cunningham fought back to take the lead. As with Oehm in the previous final, Oehm put his head down and got across the line 25-20.
