Featuring some of Victoria's most iconic activities, attractions and other landmarks with the aim of showcasing these top spots to a broad domestic and international audience as well as shedding light on regional locales, the ‘Bucket List’ encompasses the diversity of the state in detailed form.
Compiled from several years worth of customer feedback, staff input and database polling, the Bucket List covers both experiences in larger urban centres as well as numerous hidden gems in regional Victoria.
Both the Grampians National Park and MacKenzie Falls earned a spot for obvious reasons – their sheer beauty.
The undeniable appeal of both of these fantastic works of Mother Nature helped to score the Grampians National Park the number five position and MacKenzie Falls number 25.
The Brambuk Cultural Centre earned its number 87 position for similar reasons, its celebration of Australian history and culture.
The Bucket List serves as a checklist for potential visitors to the state of Victoria, intermingling a concentration of experiences in Melbourne with other essentials in the likes of Bendigo, Halls Gap, the Dandenongs and more.
The list also includes a visual map view for travellers to plan out their future journeys to any of the listed experiences, while conveying a sense of scale of the state of Victoria that may not otherwise be obvious to the uninitiated.
Experience Oz Digital Manager Matt Hobbs said the Ultimate Victoria Bucket List’ is a great opportunity to highlight some of the lesser-known wonders of Victoria for the local, regional and domestic tourism market to experience.
He hoped it will inspire people to get outside the cities and explore.
“With several years worth of data and feedback on hand – and in response to persistent questions about how to find new things to do in Australia.” he said.
“We put together the Bucket List so that even locals of Victoria will find a special part of the state they've never visited before.
“Experiences on the list vary in location from coast to inland, gourmet to adrenaline-filled, which seems an appropriate reflection of our country's, and Victoria's specifically, diversity.
“Australia is the land of the green behind the gold and we want to show people – particularly those from abroad - everything our country has to offer including what often doesn't make the big international commercials.”
