POLICE are investigating a suspicious fire at Mokepilly, near Halls Gap.

The blaze started at about 12.50pm on Wednesday and was quickly extinguished.
It was a Total Fire Ban day across the region.
"This is a fire that had the potential to be fairly significant given the area it was in and the conditions on the day," District 16 Operations Manager Bernie Fradd said.
"Probably the most concerning aspect is that potentially someone has lit that fire under those conditions."
