Their premiership points remain the same but Willaura is still ahead on sets and games.
Ararat hosted the match against Willaura and certainly provided a strong opposition.
Nathaniel Kuchel and Philippa Bush were slow to warm up in the chilly conditions, allowing Nicholas Vallance and Charlie Waites to gain the upper hand early and win the first set 0-6. Gabe Tonks and Thomas Bartlett put up a strong fight in the second set before going down to brother-sister team of Scott and Erica Evans 3-6. In the cross over sets, Willaura claimed the third but Bush and Bartlett combined well against Waites and Erica Evans to win the final set 6-1.
Willaura had still done enough to get over the line and claim the four points continuing its run on top of the ladder.
The second match saw Buangor travel to play Tatyoon in what proved to be a tough contest for the visitors.
Buangor’s Tim Hartwich put in a strong performance, serving well and using his forehand drive to its best advantage. However Tatyoon proved too strong on the day, adapting much better to the windy conditions. Despite Buangor’s best efforts, Tatyoon’s Georgia Richardson, Grace Astbury and the Phillips brothers, James and Sam, claimed all four sets and the match. Moyston had the bye.
Moyston and Buangor will both have their work cut out for them in this Saturday’s matches. Moyston takes on Tatyoon while Buangor play ladder leaders Willaura.
Both matches will be played at Ararat City courts while Ararat has the bye.

Tennis tip for this week: Be aware of your feet when you are serving. No part of your foot is to cross the base line of the tennis court until after you have hit the tennis ball. If it does, it is called a foot fault and the point is awarded to the opposition player. Take a step further back behind the base line and the problem is solved.
