A field of 46 undertook the program that consisted of four events, and incorporated the final round of the quad team shoot.
The Central Wimmera team finished on top of the quad shoot ladder, returning 2661/2800, while Ararat came in third with 2573/2800. Doug Harris had a day out, receiving the overall high gun spoils for his total return of 141/14 while Tom Bertalli (130/145) and Penny Smith (135/145) were junior and ladies’ winners respectively.
Ten shooters returned a perfect score in the first event, 10 target point score, eye opener, cash divide.
Austin Freeman, Alan Neilson, Ron Hounsell, Murray Schaper, Barry Smith, Gavin Horrigan, Danny Hill, Allan Ford, Leon Gibson, Wayne Calaby were successful with a perfect 30/30.
Event two was Ararat Engineering, 25 target points score, graded, championship.
Ryan Neilson took home overall AA grade honours, while Chris Jorgensen, Doug Harris and Joseph Leedham topped their grades.
Jack Wallace claimed the highest honours in the Ararat Mower Centre, 25 target double barrel graded championship, edging out David Bertalli.
A host of shooters were also flawless in the 15 target handicap cash divide. Geoff Hill, Gavin Horrigan, Aaron Bond, Mark Walsh, Trevor Tresize, Chris Jorgensen, Penny Smith, Greg Coburn and Gary Hargreaves all shot 15/15.
Overall and AA grade: 1st Ryan Neilson 75/75, 2nd David Bertalli 86/87.
A grade: 1st Chris Jorgensen 74/75, 2nd Gavin Horrigan 72/75.
B grade: 1st Doug Harris 74/75, 2nd Brett Williams 68/75.
C grade: 1st Joseph Leedham 69/75, 2nd Laurie Hemley 63/75.
Overall and AA grade: 1st Jack Wallace 72/72, 2nd David Bertalli 71/72.
A grade: 1st Barry Smith 65/65, 2nd Ashley Hawker 61/62.
B grade: 1st Brett Williams 42/42, 2nd Doug Harris 41/41.
C grade: 1st Zakk Taylor 23/25, 2nd Joseph Leedham 26/29.
Ararat Farm Supplies overall high gun: Doug Harris 141/145. First National Real Estate overall junior: Tom Bertalli 130/145.
Ladies high gun: Penny Smith 135/145.
Veterans high gun: Greg Coburn 131/145.
