The room will be crammed with tables staffed by volunteers from different groups and organisations around Ararat which cater largely to seniors.
Lions, Rotary, Gorrinn House, Senior Citizens, the Embroiderers Guild, the Wool, Fibre and Craft Group, Grampians Writers Group, the Stan Kelly Art group, Ladies Probus, Ararat Bowls Club, Y's Mens and Menettes, the Ararat Garden Club, the East Grampians Health Services Auxiliaries, the Woodies, Men's Shed, the CWA and Landcare groups will be present, along with Vision Australia and U3A itself.
Ararat and District U3A president Lee Albert said the event would be a great opportunity for residents to go along and find out what the various groups do.
“People staffing the tables will be happy to chat and showcase their activities for the public,” he said.
“Go along to the Community Room anytime between 10 am and 3 pm.
“Collect a ticket as you enter to be in the running for some excellent door prizes drawn throughout the day.”
Ararat Rural City Councillor Fay Hull will formally open the day at 11 am.
The town buses are free, and any questions regarding routes and times can be answered by ringing Christian's Bus Co on 5352 1501.
