Member for Western Victoria, Jaala Pulford, said Ararat Regional Art Gallery would receive $500 to help it put on All that Glitters is Not Gold.
"Children's Week is a great opportunity to acknowledge the value of childhood and to show what Ararat children can achieve," Ms Pulford said.
"I'd encourage all families to get out and involved in All that Glitters is Not Gold. It sounds like a terrific event."
All That Glitters is Not Gold is on at the Ararat Regional Art Gallery on October 26 and 27.
Children will learn about the art of printmaking, including planning, layering, colour mixing and learning how to design using the negative space.
Organisers hope the event will give children an experience of satisfaction and pride of a completed mural being exhibited in their local community.
Ms Pulford said many children across Western Victoria will get involved in Children's Week events organised by early childhood services, local councils, playgroups, libraries and community groups.
She said the funding would assist with putting on events that celebrate Victoria's youngest citizens and their accomplishments.
"The aim of the grants is to build stronger and connected communities by bringing together families and their children at free local community events," Ms Pulford said.
Ms Pulford said the Andrews Labor Government is supporting more than 80 community groups and not-for-profit organisations from across Victoria with more than $70,000 in small seed grants to help them put on local events and festivities to celebrate this year's Children's Week.
Children's Week runs from Saturday October 24 to Sunday November 1.
