The town is likely to record its warmest day since March 19.
The temperature is expected to top 33 degrees on Monday as the October hot spell rolls on.
It hasn’t reached 30 degrees so early in the month of October since 2006.
Since 1969, the Bureau of Meteorology has never recorded two days of temperatures above 30 degrees within the first week of October in Ararat.
Tuesday won’t be much cooler with the mercury again forecast to top 30 degrees before a change blows in.
It was a warm weekend in Ararat with the temperature reaching 31 degrees on Saturday.
If Tuesday’s forecast top of 32 degrees eventuates Ararat will have recorded three days above 30 degrees within just the first six days of the month of October for the first time.
Monday is not currently a day of Total Fire Ban in the South West fire district, however the level of fire danger is rated as Severe.
