For the last three years Nic and Peta have taken on the responsibility of keeping up the supply of chips, lollies and fruit drinks to the canteen as well as helping out with other responsibilities around the club, such as with junior football and netball.
All this they do with a young family in tow, taking it all in their stride and are willing to help out in any capacity that they can.
Two SM&W Rovers life memberships were given out this year. Both Graeme ‘Tigga’ McCrow and Kate Bibby were worthy recipients. The pair started their time at Rovers as players in the junior ranks of their respective codes of football and netball.
In their playing careers, both also won many awards in best and fairest vote counts. Kate has been lucky enough to part of ten A grade premiership winning teams, also winning multiple ‘best on court’ in a grand final in her time at the club.
However it has been her work over recent years that has been widely recognised.
As well as being a member of the executive for a number of years she has done a significant amount of work in pre-season recruitment as well as co-ordinator of coaches, umpires and uniforms, player liaison, coach to numerous grades and more recently this year NetSetGo co-ordinator.
Graeme was also part of the 1987 senior premiership side, however ongoing injuries cut short his football career. Fortunately for the Club ‘Tigga’ has stayed on taking on numerous positions on the committee such as president and more recently, treasurer.
His work on other projects around the ground have also being of great significance. These include the gate-keepers box, football coaches boxes, netball score box, netball shelters, spraying of the ground and he has been a large part of organising the football club crop for many years.
The work that these two dedicated members have undertaken at their time at Rovers has certainly not gone unnoticed and the club felt it very fitting that they be the next recipients of a life membership.
