MOYSTON/Willaura has bowed out of the A grade Mininera and District Netball Association finals series following a loss to Penshurst last Sunday.

Penshurst got away to a flyer and Moyston/Willaura appeared to lack the free flowing style they would be accustomed to.
Pumas’ Zanetta Hosking went into the goals for the second half and she had her eye in early. Moyston/Willaura reduced the lead to nine (39-30) but Penshurst were just too strong in the finish.
Ararat Eagles displayed tremendous composure in their strong B grade win against Penshurst, which now sees them in next week’s first semi-final. Eagles’ Missy Brown worked hard defensively and took some strong rebounds under the ring. All Ararat Eagles players lifted in the final quarter and they went on to win comfortably 29-22.
Tatyoon quickly jumped out of the blocks in their C grade elimination final match against Woorndoo Mortlake. The third quarter belonged to Woorndoo/Mortlake, however the Hawks regrouped and emerged 18-12 victors.
SM&W Rovers advanced to next week’s 17 and under first semi-final with a strong win over Woorndoo Mortlake. Scores were tied at the conclusion of normal time and an extra five minutes each end was required to get a result. Rovers’ Demi Wright took some timely intercepts to help her side run out winners 33-29.
Hawkesdale/Macarthur certainly had its opportunities in its 15 and under elimination final against Penshurst but it was the Bombers that held on to win by two goals, 11-9.
Woorndoo/Mortlake got off to a flyer in its A grade qualifying final against Hawkesdale/Macarthur. The Tigers took charge, winning by eight goals (36-28) to progress through to next week’s second semi final. Woorndoo/Mortlake defeated Glenthompson Dunkeld in their B grade qualifying final contest, 40-33 while in a low scoring match, Glenthompson/Dunkeld finds itself in next week’s C grade second semi-final. The Rams edged out Penshurst 19-16.

Hawks’ Maggie Astbury was in blistering form, while Pumas’ shooter Chloe Dunmore played her best quarter of netball in the last. Despite Dunmore’s accuracy, Tatyoon just continued to build on its lead to eventually claim the win 53-31.
Moyston/Willaura had a great start in its 15 and under qualifying final against Woorndoo/Mortlake.
Monique Dowling was creative in the goal circle and finished off some great passages of play. The Pumas stretched their lead out to four goals at three quarter time and held off the Tigers to win, 25-23.
