All money raised will support those affected by cancer, including the 82 Ararat residents diagnosed with the disease in 2014 alone.
Cancer Council Victoria’s Daffodil Day Coordinator Kyle Wakeham said the charity was hoping to raise $2 million in Victoria this Daffodil Day, and local involvement would be vital in reaching the target.
“Thank you to the Ararat community for its incredible support each and every Daffodil Day,” she said.
“Across Victoria there many amazing volunteers and site coordinators, including some who have volunteered their time for Daffodil Day for 20 consecutive years.
“Others will be taking part for the very first time.
“Whether you’re volunteering to support someone you know affected by cancer, want to give back to the community, or like the idea of spending a couple of hours with friends for a good cause, every volunteer will play a critical role in helping us beat this disease.”
Daffodil merchandise will be available at a number of retailers.
