The core business of the taskforce is to assist people throughout the community affected by drugs and/or alcohol.
“I attended to hear how we could play a role to better educate young people in relation to the misuse of drugs and alcohol,” Mr Sawyer said
“The importance of educating young people to help prevent them from becoming directly involved in these issues was considered a vital part of any overall strategy.”
It was suggested a Community Safety Committee be established to address a wide range of community safety issues, including the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
“It was generally agreed that this idea had a lot of merit and as a result it will be further investigated prior to the next meeting of the taskforce,” Mr Sawyer said.
