The performance is a comical irreverent take on a classic tale.
You can expect to see familiar characters such as Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Bad King John and his faithful Sheriff as well as many other characters that you may not expect in 14th Century England.
No one is safe from the tyranny and taxes of Bad King John, with no one to stand up to him bar the courageous hero Robin the Hood and his band of Merry Men.
Teacher, Matthew Ward said thirty-six students have been rehearsing at lunch times Monday to Friday and after school Wednesday and Thursday.
Mr Ward said every student has embraced the production.
"This has been a labour of love for both the students and I," he said.
"I've seen these young people pour their hearts and souls into producing something they are proud of.
"I'm really excited to see them put on their show and would like to actively encourage everyone in the community to do the same.
"At Ararat College we believe in producing diverse graduates that can excel not only academically but also athletically, in leadership positions and of course in the arts.
“Theatre in schools is an important way of building these attributes, it pushes students out of their comfort zones and allows them to challenge themselves in new and exciting ways.
“It builds self-confidence, self-esteem and their ability to speak and perform in front of a crowd. It gives them experiences in how productions work and encourages leadership and professional skills.
“The social aspects of theatre in schools are also important building friendships and solidarity in working towards a singular purpose.”
Robin the Hood can be seen Thursday August 6 and Friday August 7 at the Ararat Town Hall from 7pm.
Tickets are available from Ararat College or at the door.
