Holly Allgood and Amelia Miller will compete in the event at the Gold Coast on Friday, August 14. 

Five girls - Holly, Tayla Bocos, Amelia, Emma Blackie and Emma Lavery competed in the preliminary finals of the National Dance Star Competition. 

Four of those (Holly, Tayla, Amelia and Emma) moved through to the state final.

They competed in an audition style competition, where they had just 20 minutes to learn the choreography before they go on stage to perform in front of a panel of judges and an audience.

The competitors are judged on memory of the routine, execution, stage presence and endurance.

The four Dynamic Dance students competed at the state final - Holly, Tayla, Amelia and Emma in lyrical, Emma and Holly in jazz and Holly in hip hop.

Holly placed first in Jazz Broadway auditions and fourth in Lyrical and was invited to represent Victoria in both styles.

Amelia placed second in Lyrical auditions and was invited to compete in the Nationals in this style.

Laura Cameron, from Dynamic Dance, said she was very proud of all the girls who competed.

Ms Camerson said she wished Holly and Amelia all the best at the National Dance Star Championships next month.

Holly has since achieved sponsorship for the event from Ballarat Surgi Centre.

Both girls have had plenty of practice in the lead up to next month’s event.

They have taken part in various eisteddfods throughout the year at locations including Hamilton, Warrnambool and Bendigo.​

This is the second consecutive year Dynamic Dance Ararat has been represented at the national competition.

Jemma Barrowman qualified in 2014 at the primary lyrical level, however was unable to attend.

After the National Dance Star Competition in August, attention will shift to a series of concerts where the students will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on September 11, 12 and 13.
