The Bulldogs will take on the undefeated Lismore/Derrinallum on Saturday with the aim of snapping a two match losing streak and remaining in touch with the top five.
Rovers’ coach Joe Carmody said the loss to Moyston/Willaura was a disappointment, which saw the Dogs stray from the game plan.
“We spoke straight after the match about playing the right way and not worrying about the scoreboard too much, but focusing more on just being a hard team to play against,” he said.
“We still rate ourselves a chance to win this week, but even if the result doesn't go our way, we think if we put things in place where we play in the right manner it can set us up for the rest of the year.
“We've dropped some games early that we knew might come back to bite us later in the season.”
With the league’s leading goal scorer Wayne Loader in red-hot form, Carmody said he will have to have plan A, B and C up his sleeve to quell the Demon's influence.
“The back six have been pretty good and up until a few weeks ago we actually had the fifth best defence in the league,” Carmody said.
“Obviously we leaked a few goals on the weekend, but our defenders have been very steady all year.
“It also comes back to the delivery (Loader) gets, so we have to make sure we pressure their midfield as much as possible.
“Guys through the middle like Ross Thompson, Jahn Knight against his old club will be keen for a big game and our captain Nic Byrne will lead the way.”
In other round 11 Mininera matches the Ararat Eagles have their best chance of climbing off the bottom of the ladder when they take on fellow winless team, Woorndoo/Mortlake.
Tatyoon will look to bounce back against Great Western, outright third spot is on the line when Moyston/Willaura travels to Penshurst and Wickliffe/Lake Bolac will host Hawkesdale/Macarthur.
