Winners of the 4BBB stableford event were Chris Fresle and Steve Hunt with 47 points from Aradale pair Brent and Gary Sherwell on 46 points, following a countback from Stuart Muller and Phil Goudie.
Consolation balls went to Greg and Flynn Jamieson (45), Darkie Biddle and Kup Awarangi (45), John Shaw and Neil Brehaut (44), Phil Roberts and Greg Kerr (44), and Michael Harricks and Andy Maconachie (43).
On the vets' first hole Craig Potter scored a birdie, while the Tivey and Holland hole saw both Brian Leehane and Cameron Lawrie take honours.
Nearest the pins went to Bill Bibby (2nd), Michael Harricks (6th), Lloyd Grice (15th), Maconachie (16th) and Lawrie (18th).
Chalambar has rebuilt its eighth green and installed a couple of new bunkers so there has been no nearest the pin competition run on the temporary hole since mid-April, however the new green is coming together nicely and according to club vice captain Rob Harricks, it should be back in play for the monthly medal competition on June 6.
Harricks also scored in the mid-week nine holes chicken run on Thursday with what he described as an extremely satisfying 23 points on the back nine.
Others to win chickens were Phil Goudie (22), Wally Rhook, Ian Wright and Bob Collins all with 21. Clyde Vearing won the Friday chicken run with 21 points from Steve Hunt on 20.
Tomorrow is a single stableford event sponsored by the Essendon supporters don't worry there are still plenty around, so pickings won't be that slim at all.
