According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), which records its figures at the Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat, 6.6mm of rain fell in the 24 hours to 9am Tuesday.
A further 4.5mm fell in the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday.
This week's rainfall takes Ararat's cumulative total for the month of May to 23.3mm, which is still almost 30mm short of the long term average 52.4mm.
Day and night time temperatures remain above the long term average with Ararat escaping the near freezing nights that usually become custom at this time of year.
Ararat's coldest overnight minimum so far this month occurred on Monday when the mercury dipped to 2.2 degrees.
Overnight minimums have been on average 2.0 degrees higher than the long term average 5.5 degrees this month.
Daytime maximums have also been 1.8 degrees higher than the long term average 15.4 degrees.
According to the BOM April was cooler than usual with both minimum and maximum temperatures below the long term average.
The biggest discrepancy appeared in daytime temperatures where maximums were on average 1.2 degrees below the long term average.
The warmest day (28.5) occurred on April 1, the coolest (12.0) on April 7.
Overnight temperatures were also 0.7 degrees below the long term average but at no stage did the mercury drop below freezing.
Rainfall was again under par with 35.8 millimetres across 10 days of the month. That figure was 6.3mm below the long term average 42.1mm.
