John Billett, president of the Cathcart Tennis Club, has announced that it will contribute $5,000 for the purchase of a Vein Finder for use within the East Grampians Health Service oncology department.
This donation has been made possible through funds raised at the Cathcart Fair, a substantial local fund raiser, held in the mid-1980s. The Cathcart Tennis Club has since wound up and with funds remaining, the Club has distributed them within the community.
East Grampians Health Service has welcomed this donation and looks forward to the forthcoming benefits to the wider community through the acquisition of the Vein Finder.
"I am disappointed that the once vibrant Cathcart Tennis Club had folded but am very pleased to have funds to contribute, such as to East Grampians Health Service's oncology department," Mr Billet said.
East Grampians Health Service chief executive Nick Bush thanked Mr Billet for the donation on behalf of EGHS.
"The health service will purchase a Vein Finder to assist in the care of patients in Oncology," Mr Bush said.
