The Kicking on in Moyston fundraiser will be held at the Moyston Recreation Reserve from 5.30pm, with entertainment for all ages.
Region general manager of AFL Victoria, Lachy Patterson said the idea was first conjured by Ararat Leading Senior Constable Eddy MacDonald, who thought it would be a great idea to involve football in the community event to try and raise some morale.
Local primary school children are encouraged to take part in the AFL super clinic, which will be run by former North Melbourne best and fairest and VFL premiership player John Rantall and football development managers Jock Whiting (Hamilton) and Alan Thompson (Warrnambool).
There will be plenty of giveaways throughout the night, including some AFL signed jumpers and cricket memorabilia that will be auctioned and raffled the biggest prize being tickets to the ICC Cricket World Cup quarterfinal.
Live music and a free barbecue supplied by the Lions Club will also keep the crowd entertained.
Mr Patterson said entry is only a gold coin donation, with the relaxed atmosphere sure to make for a fun night out.
"The money will go back to a combination of the BlazeAid organisation and the Moyston community," he said.
"I'd like to stress that this isn't an event to just raise money, it is also just an opportunity for people to come together, have a chat and enjoy each other's company."
The Mininera and District Football League has also offered its support by helping with the cost of running the event.
