Youth Club would have had plenty to think about during the week heading into its clash against Pomonal after it was in control of the match against Buangor only to let it slip.
The Clubbers bowled well to dismiss Buangor, however failed with the bat and if they are to get the job done tomorrow that is one thing that will need to change.
Ethan Marrow is due to perform in the premier division after just one big score for the year in C grade.
Marrow is among many of the Youth Club batsmen who continuously get starts before departing for only a minor contribution.
If Youth Club gets a substantial partnership at the top of the order the game could be over quickly, as the team’s bowling fi re power would be expected to take care of Pomonal’s batting line-up.
The Tigers could also use a partnership at the top to limit the work of captain and all-rounder Lee Oliver, who comes in at number seven.
Oliver has been performing well with both bat and ball, but needs some support if his side is to defeat Youth Club.
Swifts/Great Western will like its chances as the Combine heads to Tatyoon — a ground that has been their undoing for many years.
Having already defeated Tatyoon at home, the Combine will have plenty of confi dence in Sam Cocks, James Devery and the like to make a big score before their bowlers get them across the line.
After playing B grade last weekend Craig Marrow is a likely inclusion into Swifts/Great Western’s top order.
Matt Delzotto also contributed in B grade with a knock of 52 and may see his name on the A grade team sheet.
An outright victory to Swifts/Great Western has seen it jump to equal top of the ladder with Buangor.
Buangor will be in for another tight contest when it takes on Aradale.
The Dalers batted well to defeat Tatyoon last weekend and will be looking to emulate a similar innings against Buangor.
Buangor’s bowling was strong last week as it dismissed Youth Club to take the points, but the side was less than impressive with the bat.
Harry and Jack Ganley continue to dominate for Buangor, but if they are dismissed cheaply it will go a long way to Aradale causing an upset.
Chalambar has finished cricket for 2014 courtesy of the bye and will need to regroup over the Christmas period and work towards recording a first win in the A grade competition when the season recommences on January 17.
