Gemmola's very impressive nett 63 also saw him take out B grade on the day from Arthur Mahoney with 66 nett.
Michael Harricks teed off early in probably the worst of the day's conditions to bring in a very creditable score of 71 off his scratch handicap.
In A grade Glenn Faneco carded a nett 68 to just hold off Rob Porter on 69, while C grade winner Frank Kitchen shot 92 for a nett 67 to edge out Greg Graham on 68.
Birdies on the first hole were aplenty, with Harrison Cronin, Brett Smart and Jim Leeke picking up a golf ball each.
Nearest the pins went to John Pola (2nd), Andy Maconachie (6th), Smart (8th), Ronald Harris (second shot 15th), Ash Heard (16th) and Faneco (18th).
Birdies on the 18th went to Faneco and president Charlie DeFegely, while Harricks also emptied the 75BC Office Solutions Eagles Nest with a smart three on the fourth hole.
Phil Roberts won the secret six holes.
Consolation balls were won by Smart, David Jennings, Max Chamings, Sam Cronin and Peter Carr.
Scoring on Thursday was equally impressive with Roberts, Chamings and Sam Cronin all taking home chickens with 43 points and Peter Dohnt (42) and Terry Hinch (41) right on their heels.
