The Tigers will take on the ladder leaders at Central Park for day one of the two day clash and will need to carry the same form they have produced in the past fortnight, which resulted in a surprise win over Tatyoon.
Buangor will be fresh from a two weekend bye.
Pomonal was set the task of chasing 144 in its first innings against Tatyoon and while the side didn't do it as easily as it may have liked, the result was still what the Tigers were after.
Led by skipper Lee Oliver, who took 3/26 and Clinton Slorach, who was good support with 3/33, Pomonal was all over the Tatyoon batting line-up.
In terms of batting Luke Jordan was the best performer for Pomonal with 39 runs, but he needs more support.
Five of the team's opening six batsmen were able to make substantial starts, but failed to go on with it.
With the likes of Jack Ganley throwing down delivery after delivery Pomonal will need more individual brilliance if it is to overcome Buangor.
Harry Ganley, who has been the best of a strong Buangor team so far in the competition with a batting average of 88, will be missing for the next fortnight.
This will put more pressure on the likes of Shaun Allen and Jack Boatman to hit a winning score.
Like Pomonal, Youth Club will take positives out of its near outright win against Chalambar when the Clubbers face Tatyoon.
Youth Club had Chalambar nine wickets down and on the skids when play ceased last weekend.
It wasn’t for the first time that the Clubbers have been on their way to an outright victory but ran out of time.
Cam Kimber and Steve LeGassick will be the ones to trouble the Tatyoon batsmen, while Taty will be sweating on the return of a number of players to bolster stocks.
Robert Glen will look to counteract anything Youth Club sends his way as he hunts for a big score for the first time since changing clubs.
Glen has managed just 15 runs from his four matches and will need to get Tatyoon off to a good start if it’s to avoid a mid-season crisis.
Chalambar will face a crisis of its own if the team loses again this weekend when it plays Aradale.
Chally’s highest score to date is 107 against Tatyoon in round two and they would need to double that and add a few more if they are to be competitive.
Aradale was unlucky to go down to Swifts/Great Western in their last outing after putting a 220-run innings together.
The run chase went down to the wire, but with a knock of 95 from Sam Cocks and an unbeaten 64 from Craig Marrow the Combine were able to secure victory.
Expect Tyler Cronin’s team to bounce back strongly as day one unfolds at Alexandra Oval.
