LANDSBOROUGH West has claimed bragging rights in the local derby, downing Landsborough in a tightly contested match on Saturday in the Ararat and District Tennis Association.

West got away to the better start, with Ash Cooper and Justin Lee opening the men's section with a 9-7 win, however Chad McSparron and Ben Hodgetts hit back for Landsborough with a massive 9-0 defeat of Wes Oosthuizen and Joel Bowen to get their side on the board.
Hodgetts later paired with Aiden Lee to record another 9-0 win in the section to see Landsborough take the early points.
West recovered in the ladies' section, with a complete performance from all four members Ange Hodder, Trudi Hodder, Jo Blake and Janita Perry which left the mixed section as the deciding factor.
West won three of the four mixed clashes to eventually claim victory.
It was also an interesting battle between Crowlands and Elmhurst which went down to the wire in the mixed section.
Elmhurst was the first on the board, winning the men's thanks largely to the efforts of number one player Matt Haddow.
Crowlands' ladies did what they have done on many occasions this season and got their side back in the contest with a strong showing led by Boatman sisters Tiffany and Julia.
There were four tight battles in the mixed match-ups, but it was the class of Crowlands which prevailed in the end.
In the final match of the round, ladder leader Ararat had no problem accounting for Buangor.
