Lloyd is no stranger to Ararat having played here years ago at the Court House Hotel, and more recently for Ararat Live at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre. This time round he again brings with him drummer Tim Burnham.
Lloyd is proficient in his chosen field having played bills with legendary blues artists from Buddy Guy and Etta James to Ray Charles, as well as artists from a range of musical genres including Bob Dylan, Peter Frampton and Willie Nelson. Lloyd is included in Australian Guitar magazine's list of the 50 Greatest Australian Guitarists of All Time.
In between extensive touring within Australia, Lloyd has travelled all over the world with frequent tours to Germany, Italy, Japan and the USA, where he's toured coast to coast six times. During these tours he has performed at some of the world's best known blues venues and largest festivals as well as showcasing at every major international guitar player's event in the world.
Lloyd is well known for his regular performances on the Queenscliff Blues Train. In 2012 he played in Melbourne in a guitar play off with Geoff Achison, Jimi Hocking, Shaun Kirk and Shannon Bourne. He is heavily involved in promoting and encouraging young emerging blues' artists as well as being a devotee of the Cole Clark guitars.
It will be great to have some blues at Ararat Live and no one does it better than Lloyd. Tim and Lloyd will take to the stage around 8.15pm but why not come early, grab a seat, order a meal and settle in for a great night's entertainment.
Ararat Live is a not-for-profit collective whose main objective is to support original music. A entry fee of $20 per head goes to the performers and to support future events. All Ararat Live shows are open to the general public but potential guests are encouraged to get on the mailing list.
