Ararat Police are investigating the damage of play equipment at the school in Moore Street, which occurred between 6pm on October 9 and 7.30am on October 10.
The principal of Ararat Primary School Jennifer Molan contacted police to report the destruction of play equipment in the playground of the school overnight.
She told police that unknown persons had entered the school yard and had smashed the 'Beyblade table' to pieces. The Beyblade table is a makeshift table constructed out of a second hand shower base which sat approximately half a metre off the ground mounted on a base constructed of timber. The equipment was made specifically for the children to play with their Beyblades on. Beyblades are spinning top toys.
The Beyblade table was located in the centre of the playground and only visible from Rundell Street and was used by students on a daily basis.
If anyone has any information, or witnessed the incident, contact Senior Constable Ross Murdoch at the Ararat Police Station on 5355 1500.
