The event will run from 10am to 12pm
Amy Marnica, Playgroup development consultant for Ballarat and surrounds, said the play day is designed for parents with children aged five years old or younger.
"The idea of the morning is to celebrate the local play groups running and also let people know what is happening in these groups," she said.
"It is an opportunity for parents to come along and have a fun morning with their kids and also find out some information about early years services like kindergartens and how to enrol."
The day will feature the Playgroup Victoria 'play van', with lots of activities to keep children entertained, along with face painting, story time by the Ararat Library and a music session with Deb Ferguson.
For the parents, representatives from local kindergartens will be on hand to answer questions, along with staff from the Ararat YMCA.
The Ararat Play Day is free of charge with no bookings required.
