National development program level one, two and three preparation gymnasts represented the Ararat and District Gymnastics Club at recent competitions including Ballarat, MLC, Warrnambool, State Pennant Qualifiers and State Pennant Finals held at Donvale.
The level one prep and two prep teams gained a position in the state finals after qualifying in first place at a Rural Wildcard Event held in Warrnambool in August.
The level one prep team of Ruby, Jazz, Hayley and Freya were eighth overall at the GK state pennant finals.
The girls did an exceptional job in the apparatus criteria with a first place for their vault work, eighth for bars, sixth on beams and again eighth on the floor.
Similar results were recorded by the level two prep team of Charlotte, Lani, Sophia, Annabelle and Sabaya which also finished in eighth place overall.
They finished first in the vault section, eighth on the bars, sixth at the beams and eighth on the floor.
The GK State Pennant Finals marked the completion of the competitive session for the level one to three gymnasts and coaches.
Coach Briana Hopper Britton said she was very proud of the efforts and results of all the gymnasts.
Ms Britton said it is always a challenge when competing against strong metro teams, but Ararat and district gymnasts have come away with the knowledge they were able to match it with some of the best.
