Catriona Rowntree from Channel Nine's 'Getaway' was the guest speaker on the night, keeping everyone entertained with her anecdotal stories about making the transition from a city girl from Sydney to a farmer's wife in central Victoria.
Catriona told stories on how her perception of being a farmer's wife was quite different to what reality was, and coupled together with her jet setting lifestyle as a TV travel reporter, she was very entertaining.
"We were absolutely delighted to have Catriona Rowntree as our guest speaker this year. Catriona was funny, witty and an absolute delight to listen to," East Grampians Health Service Auxiliary president Margie Kilpatrick said.
"The dinner was well supported by many local businesses and our hardworking dedicated volunteers.
"We raised in excess of $17,000 this year, which is a tremendous effort and this will enable the health service to purchase a much needed cardiac monitor for use in the inpatient unit."
Mrs Kilpatrick said that she would like to thank all the women who came along to the dinner and the wonderful generosity of local businesses who helped make the night such a success by supporting us with the fundraising work that it does for the local health service.
