THE 31st annual Ararat One Act Play Festival has attracted nine theatre companies from across Victoria this year.

The festival will be held this Saturday at Ararat Performing Arts Centre hosted by the Ararat Theatre Company, with 11 plays to be presented.
Hollywood director, actor and teacher Paul Parker will be guest adjudicator this year, and the theatre companies will be fortunate to receive critiques from him.
Ararat Theatre Company will present three plays, including Governing Alice, Best Served Cold and The Curious Case of Mr Blackie.
The plays will be presented in three sesions, with session one commencing at 11am, session two at 2pm and the evening session at 7pm. Admission is $12 per session.
The plays to be presented include:
Session one: Ararat Theatre Company - Governing Alice; Mount Players Youth Theatre - The Actor's Nightmare; Nuworks Theatre - Barricades and Barbed Wire.
Session two: Bitten By Productions - Beyond Babylon; Ballarat Theatre Company - Who's Afraid Of Enid Blyton; Ararat Theatre Company - Best Served Cold; Skin Of Our Teeth Productions - Howling At The Moon.
Session three: Coburg Players - For The Way Out; Here, There And Everywhere Theatre Company - Couples; Ararat Theatre Company - The Curious Case Of Mr Blackie; TheatreBox - Roughing It.
