KINGS Cars is pleased to announce their recent success at the Telstra Australian Business Awards, finishing as a finalist in the Regional Business Awards Category.

To get there was quite an achievement in itself with over 5,000 nominations being received for the prestigious awards; this was then shortlisted to 600 who then faced a comprehensive interview process resulting in a final list of 25 businesses in total spread over five categories. The Telstra Business Awards Gala Event was held at the Crown Palladium Ballroom.

"It was a great thrill to be a finalist in the company of such fantastic businesses. To receive external recognition for our ongoing commitment to regional Victoria, and also appreciation of our innovative customer friendly model at such a prestigious event was extremely satisfying," Peter King said.

"It's not only our customer focus but our unique business model that ensures we can successfully operate dealerships in rural locations. This not only provides long term employment and investment but also ensures automotive skills are retained in these local economies."

Mr King said the vibe of the evening was incredibly positive and that despite the diversity of the final 25 businesses, all businesses shared not only the passion for their business but also, crucially, they had built their businesses around what their customers wanted, not what they wanted to provide. Also every single one had the drive and the determination to do better.

Kings Cars is multi-franchised and multi-location vehicle dealership group with dealerships in Ballarat, Ararat, Geelong and Hamilton. Kings is a first generation family business, employing over 80 people across the district. The business was started by Angela and Peter King in Ballarat in 2003.
