In front of a large crowd at Richardson Oval the Storm dominated their opposition from the first quarter to run out winners 6.12 (48) to 1.5 (11).
"Every win is a good win, but this is our most prestigious because it was the first one we have ever had in front of a home crowd," Bell said.
"It meant a hell of a lot to the girls to be able to put a show on in front of their friends and family and the local people that came along."
The Storm controlled play in the opening term to hold a 14-point lead by quarter time, before increasing that margin to 21 points at halftime thanks largely to the efforts of Alysha Bettels and Mikaela Turvey.
Neither team was able to score a goal in the third term, but the Storm made up for that in the final quarter by kicking two majors to push the winning margin out to 37 points.
Bell said the home side attacked the game from start to finish.
"They didn't shy away from the contest and just kept trying to win the ball, get it forward and try to score," he said.
"Sarah Anderson got our best on ground and she ended up tagging a girl called Winona Greenhalgh, who has just represented the indigenous Australian team at the state championships and Sarah pretty much tagged her out of the game.
"Chelsea (Wilson) did really well off a halfback flank too, just rebounded all day for us and it was probably her best game for the season and Danielle (Borrelli) also had an impact on the wing and was just hard at it.
"She is the barometer of toughness in our football team."
Bell said there had been a clear improvement in the players' understanding of the game throughout this season and he is hoping the Storm can finish on a winning note in their final match next Sunday against Gisborne.
"We'd love to get one more win and it is probably a good chance given we are playing the bottom team on the ladder," he said.
"If we can get that victory it will be four wins, one better than last season, which would be great reward."
