Ararat Rural City Council has undertaken a round of Community Engagement sessions.
Two of these sessions directly targeted the issue of youth within the municipality providing students from all secondary schools a chance to voice their concerns, wants and needs to council.
Councillors met with representative groups from Lake Bolac Secondary College, Ararat College, where a representative from the CGLLEN was present and Marian College.
Through these initial sessions a need was identified to form a representative group to meet on a more regular basis with council and discuss issues and ideas that affect the youth of the municipality.
A certificate of appreciation was presented to all three schools with Mayor, Cr Paul Hooper reiterating council's commitment to youth across the municipality.
